According to many sources,the Falls were first seen by David Livingstone, a Scottish missionary and explorer, in November of 1855. This particular Falls is now known as Victoria Falls. Victoria Falls is located on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, on Zambezi River.

The Beauty of Waterfalls

Ever since I was a child, I have been infatuated with waterfalls. The purpose of this website is to showcase the beauty of waterfalls and to dive deeper into its eloquence. The Waterfall Destinations web page is the sight section that entails four photo's of different waterfalls from different parts of the world. The second web page is the Serene Waterfall Sounds page where you will find serenity in the sound of an actual waterfall. The last web page is the motion section whereas you can view a video with 10 of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. According to the National Geographic site, National Geographic Resource Library Encyclopedia Entry - Waterfall “A waterfall is a river or other body of water’s steep fall over a rocky ledge into a plunge pool below. Waterfalls are also called cascades.”. There are so many facets to waterfalls than just being a cascade. There are many waterfall destinations whereby people can visit and enjoy the scenery, hike, enjoy a meal, and even swim/spend time enjoying the water while splashing underneath a waterfall.


The sound of a waterfall can sooth the minds of those that may be looking to digress from a stressful situation, and the visuals/viewing a waterfall in motion has a calming effect which I can personally vouch for. I appreciate the value of something so beautiful and so tranquil. Anytime you feel like you have had a long day and need serenity, you want a few ideas of where you can go physically to experience the joy of waterfalls, or you just want to look at something of natural beauty, here is the website you will want to be.
